MCINTOSH COUNTY, Okla. — A young girl at the center of a McIntosh County Amber Alert has been found safe, according to the McIntosh County Sheriff’s Office.

Authorities issued an Amber Alert late Tuesday night for a missing 18-month-old girl who was taken by her father who had been released from a mental health facility in Arkansas. According to the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children’s website, 33-year-old John Enochs returned to the child’s grandparents’ home in McIntosh County and took 18-month-old Theresa Enochs. Officials said Enochs left in a 2004 orange Chevrolet Colorado pickup truck with Oklahoma tag KBW-795.

A possible destination was Texas, but officials said the exact location Enochs was driving is not known.

Authorities said Enochs is in possession of a 9mm handgun. Enochs was in the mental health facility for suicidal and homicidal thoughts, and officials said he has had a history of these issues for some time.

Officials with the Sheriff’s Office posted on Facebook just after 11 p.m. Tuesday that the child has been found safe. No further details are available.
